The New Lingo - It's Sick! (Webster dictionary Sick)

Source:www.goodhousekeeping.com

Being a house keeper (Yes, I like the old simple British English instead of using 'Home maker' that is suppose to make the house keeper feel valued), My reading list now includes "How to keep your home, how to be orgarnised, fast-cleaning, spring cleaning, sandra felton, messies, etc, etc) So when this time I logged on to goodhousekeeping.com and took the quiz "Do your know your teen's lingo" just for fun to know what is the latest lingo - it feels like ages when I was in college and I was part of 'the' group that contributed to this lingo dictionary, I was literally shocked! If my child told me my food was sick, I would have slapped her! I still will. I get irritated when my younger cousins use words like 'thingy' what 'thingy', mentally I picture something very unpleasant. Just say 'The thing is'

It does make me wonder thou, there was shakespear english with thee and thou, then came sir and lady, to our present male and female and oh my god - Sick! My B! Tool! I am telling you, if I were given a chance to come back 100 years later, I don't think I would want to. Check these out:

A "Tool" refers to a stupid person
You tool! Forget fool.

Fly: Describes a person or object that is cool, attractive, hip
I'm Fly! (My mother would officially have declared me mad)

Emo: An adolescent who dresses in all black, wears dark eyeliner and listens to sadly dark alternative music; also used to describe this genre of music
Last I knew, I called such a one 'Devil worshipper'

My B!
My bad!My fault!
How much more energy does it take to pronounce a few more letters?

I gotta bounce - get going?
Once upon a time, a girl came bouncing down the road!

It would be interesting to know where did this lingo originated from? egoist comes from the latin word ego which means 'self' How do you relate 'hip and cool' with fly? Fly from a housefly or a dragon fly?!

I am totally not chillin.

Fake news channel: India TV

How can a 24/7 news channel not know the community leaders in it's own country?

How can a news channel flash the photo of a person without even knowing his name?

How can a news channel be authentic if it can take the photo of a prominent leader known all over the world and use it for sensational talibani news?

How can any of it's news be believable???

Tomorrow I wouldn't be surprised if they use the prime minister's photo saying he got osama bin laden married the 13th time!!

and then flash a 5 minute apology 'Oh this is the PM?!! we didn't even know that!'

Check this out

Ghajini Hindi Vs Tamil

I got bugged watching promotions of Aamir khan's Ghajini that I went out and got the Tamil version (even though I do not speak or understand the language - but I do understand in context) I saw the Tamil movie and it was good. A nice fresh love story, very typically southern.

I saw the Hindi version (thanks to my husband) and what can I say - Copy cat. Everything is ditto the same apart from the songs and choice of wardrobe. I think Asin (The female protagonist) expressions are also xeroxed. She speaks good Hindi by the way. No accent and I saw a few of her interviews. I think she has good substance, talent and intelligence.

As for who is the Ultimate Sanjay... SURYA. You should watch the original hero. He pulls of perfectly the boyish tycoon and the crazed guy. Of course Aamir has also done a good job and those who have not seen the original Tamil film would have enjoyed every frame. I on the other hand liked the part where Aamir comes out of the lift and starts screaming at the hostel girls. LOL.. that was hilarious. Reminded me of my days at the hostel and imagine a Mad Man in your hostel!!

The winning scene is of course at the climax where he looses his memory and walks up behind the villain 'Ghajini' so innocently. Excellent!

Of course I still don't understand why the movie is named after a villain? I mean yeah, it's about taking revenge but there is so much in the movie which is essentially a love story and it is about that story - not about that one guy who gets killed at the end. Arre baba.. did Aamir sign a legal document to keep the same name kya that he couldn't find a suitable name for his movie?

Ghajini has crossed 200 crore mark. How much did the tamil version make? Agreed that the audience is far smaller but the Tamil Ghajini - Original and fresh - that beats any remake. It just goes to prove - Good script, Hindi and publicity will make you mega bucks!

How about having a toothache (teethache) in all your 32?

This month has been strange. First I wake up one morning with a really swollen left eye. I cannot go out like that! Next day I wake up with two swollen eyes! For the next two days I hide at home waiting for the bump to go (researching on 'swollen' organs). Thankfully, I am back to normal and do not have a psycho movie eye glare.

Four days back I start to see pus developing on my lower lip. Pus? on lips? is that possible?! Very!! And its bad!

Oh wait, that's the trailer. Next I have swollen gums all over. Gingivitis? So soon? I thought I was going to loose my teeth at fifty! and the bad cherry on top (or below I should say) is my lymph nodes are swollen underneath my chin making me look like a globe with 4 countries. (By the way this is supposed to be an allergic reaction to something I ate and not gingivitis according to my dentist)

So here I sit, thankfully better at the lips and chin but having teeth ache in all my teeth that I can't believe I am actually getting used to it. I cannot eat, do not feel like eating and the only thing I take is milk and dipped soft bread with antibiotics and applied gel wondering whether this pain, swell will ever go.

People - Take care of your oral health. Trust me - Toothache in all 32 ACHES.
