If my child told me my food was sick, I would have slapped her! I still will. I get irritated when my younger cousins use words like 'thingy' what 'thingy', mentally I picture something very unpleasant. Just say 'The thing is'

It would be interesting to know where did this lingo originated from? egoist comes from the latin word ego which means 'self' How do you relate 'hip and cool' with fly? Fly from a housefly or a dragon fly?!
